DEADLINE – EXCLUSIVE: Amazon MGM Studios has closed a multiyear first-look film deal with their Reacher star Alan Ritchson and his AllyCat Entertainment.

Under the pact, Amazon MGM Studios will have a first look on narrative features AllyCat Entertainment intends to produce. This follows Ritchson’s three-picture acting deal with the studio, which was announced last year on the heels of the critical and consumer success and rapid season two pickup of Reacher.

Ritchson has directed and produced. Among his producer credits is the Kristen Stewart movie Seberg about French New Wave icon Jean Seberg which Amazon distributed. He also directed, produced, co-wrote and starred in 2021 thriller Dark Web Cicada 3301.

Additionally, Ritchson will next star opposite Hilary Swank in the Lionsgate drama, Ordinary Angels, set to open wide Feb. 23. He recently wrapped production on his leading role in the Guy Ritchie World War II film for Lionsgate, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, and is also set to reprise his role as ‘Aimes’ in the untitled 11th installment of the Fast and Furious blockbuster franchise from Universal Pictures.

On the film side, Ritchson is attached to star in the Adam Shankman-helmed holiday family comedy The Man with the Bag, which is in development at Amazon MGM Studios and will fall under his three-picture deal.

Reacher was the first Prime Video title to hit No. 1 on Nielsen’s SVOD rankings. In its first 24 hours of release, the show became one of Prime Video’s most-binged Original series ever, as well as in its top five most-watched series in the U.S. and globally. The series also just scored an early season three renewal ahead of its season two debut on Dec. 15.

“From the smashing success of Reacher to his three-picture deal, we are so proud of the relationship we have already cultivated with the incredible Alan Ritchson,” said Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon MGM Studios. “We are thrilled to continue working with him in this new capacity and look forward to sharing even more of his talents with our audience.”

“As an actor, usually last in the creative chain, I’ve worked for years with a quiet desire to sow the seeds of high-quality, high-concept adventures global audiences of all-ages can enjoy,” said Alan Ritchson. “Knowing Jen Salke and the team at Amazon are equally committed to this vision is beyond exciting and will prove in time to be a big win with their Reacher-sized audience.”

Ritchson is represented by WME, Dan Spilo of Industry Entertainment and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller.
